Rajiv Ramaswami

Rajiv Ramaswami is the CTO for the Optical Networking Group at Cisco Systems. Rajiv has worked on all aspects of optical networks, from early research to product development to network deployment, at IBM, Tellabs, Xros, and Nortel Networks. He is an IEEE Fellow and a recipient of the IEEE W. R. Bennett and W.R.G. Baker prize paper awards. He is also a Distinguished Alumnus of IIT Madras and coauthor of a book, Optical Networks — A Practical Perspective. Rajiv has a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
